About Patiṉeṇ kīḻkkaṇakku - Iṉṉā nāṟpatu

The author of this treatise is Kapilar. He is considered to be different from the Sangam poet, Kapilar. Iṉṉā Nāṟpatu contains 41 verses including the invocatory song. This invocatory verse is on four gods, Civaṉ, Palarāmaṉ, Māyōṉ and Murukavēḷ.

A humanistic document, Iṉṉā Nāṟpatu, in each verse, speaks of four ethically and materialistically unacceptable things in life.These negatively charged maxims easily elevate themselves to universal perspective and relevance.
