This segment of the digital library serves as the knowledge hub for the Central Institute of Classical Tamil, meticulously designed to facilitate the research goals of the Institute's various departments and to assist scholars and researchers both domestically and internationally. A total of forty-one ancient Tamil texts, dating back to 600 AD, have been identified for the purpose of examining the antiquity, distinctiveness, and civilization of the ancient Tamils, thereby establishing a specialized library with collections primarily focused on Classical Tamil.

In this context, the CICT has been actively acquiring rare palm leaf and paper manuscripts through a range of initiatives. The Institute is not only digitizing and preserving these manuscripts for future generations but is also making them available online. To date, 2,400 palm leaf manuscripts have been digitized and archived within the Institute. These documents have been scanned at a resolution of 600 dpi, converted into PDF format, and securely stored.
