About Patiṉeṇ kīḻkkaṇakku - Iṉiyavai Nāṟpatu

The author of Iṉiyavai Nāṟpatu is Maturait Tamiḻāciriyar Makaṉār Pūtañcēntaṉār. This work is also known as Iṉiyatu Nāṟpatu, Iṉitu Nāṟpatu and Iṉiyaṉa Nāṟpatu.

It contains forty-one stanzas including the invocatory verse, which is in praise of the Hindu Trinity (Civaṉ, Tirumāl and Pirammaṉ). It follows the pattern of Iṉṉā Nāṟpatu, but states what is good and worthy of pursuit. Hence in Iṉiyavai Nāṟpatu, there are 127 things in the world which deserve to be sought out by every person. As in the case of Iṉṉā Nāṟpatu, the values commended here have a wider human appeal and perspective.
