Professor S. A. Vengada Soupraya Nayagar has translated Kuṟuntokai into French and this is the first complete translation in this language. Central Institute of Classical Tamil Studies is therefore proud to publish this book.

This translation will give readers in France a broad vision of Kuṟuntokai. It would create a new reading experience for literary enthusiasts exploring Caṅkam literature. This translation will also inspire the student community to read, fully understand and encourage in framing the syllabus for the Tamil language. It would also create an opportunity to translate other works of classic literature. It would pave the way to comparative linguistics, and comparative literature and to conduct research in various fields in both languages.
